The TCO of Microsoft UC

Microsoft's unified communications (UC) software has been heavily publicized. In November 2008, analyst firm Ferris Research completed a study on the costs of deploying it. They issued the following guideline figures:

  • $180 per user per month for a small business with 50 employees
  • $60 per user per month for a medium business with 500 staff
  • $30 per user per month for an enterprise with 5,000 staff
